Job Description:
The job profile of a BDM, often referred to as a Sales & Marketing Promoter, typically involves working in a retail or promotional setting to promote and sell specific products or services. Candidate are responsible for engaging with customers, OUTSIDE AND INSIDE STORE PREMISES demonstrating products, and persuading them to make a purchase. Here is an overview of the typical responsibilities and qualifications for this role:
Product Knowledge:
- Develop a deep understanding of the products or services being promoted.
- Stay informed about product features, benefits, and usage.
Customer Engagement:
- Approach customers and engage them in a friendly and informative manner.
- Answer customer questions and provide product information.
Product Demonstration:
- Demonstrate how the product works or explain its benefits.
- Encourage customers to interact with the product when applicable.
Sales and Promotion:
- Actively promote and sell the featured products or services.
- Use persuasive selling techniques to close sales.
Achieving Sales Targets:
- Set and achieve sales targets or quotas as specified by the employer.
- Upsell or cross-sell related products when possible.
Product Display:
- Ensure that the product display or booth is attractive and well-organized.
- Restock products and maintain a clean and appealing presentation.
Feedback Collection:
- Gather feedback from customers regarding their experience and product preferences.
- Report customer feedback to higher management.
Reporting:
- Maintain records of daily sales, including the number of products sold and customer interactions.
- Prepare and submit daily or weekly sales reports to the supervisor or employer.
Promotional Events:
- Participate in promotional events, trade shows, or product launches.
- Help set up and dismantle promotional booths or displays.
Qualifications:
- Education: A GRADUATE and PG/post diploma in Business Management
- Sales and Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal and sales skills are essential. The ability to engage customers and persuade them to make a purchase is crucial.
- Product Knowledge: A good understanding of the promoted products or services is necessary to provide accurate information to customers.
- Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication is essential for interacting with customers and conveying product information.
- Enthusiasm and Confidence: A positive and confident demeanor can help attract and engage customers.
- Physical Stamina: The job may involve standing for long periods and sometimes lifting or carrying promotional materials.
- Punctuality and Reliability: Being punctual and reliable is important, as promotional events often run on a specific schedule.
- Teamwork: The ability to work well with a team and follow instructions from supervisors is important, especially at larger events or in-store promotions.
